Hello foodies! Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Daisies, a restaurant in Chicago’s Logan Square that focuses on vegetables and pasta. The experience was fantastic, and I’m excited to share my thoughts with you.

The dishes at Daisies are thoughtfully crafted and bursting with flavor, showcasing the versatility of vegetables and pasta. For an appetizer, the beef tongue with caramelized cabbage and clam vinaigrette was a standout dish. The tender beef tongue and sweet caramelized cabbage were balanced perfectly with the briny flavor of the clam vinaigrette. If you’re a fan of bold and complex flavors, this dish is a MUST-TRY!

One of my favorite pasta dishes was the Agnolotti, which was made with beets and topped with smoked trout roe and dill. The combination of sweet and earthy flavors from the beets, salty pop of the trout roe, and herbaceous notes from the dill made for a memorable dish. Another standout pasta dish was the Stracci, made with lamb sugo, soft herb, and pecorino. The tender lamb sugo paired perfectly with the herbaceous notes, and the pecorino added a pleasant saltiness to the dish.

I also loved the Pierogi with mussels and champagne beer sauce, where the perfectly cooked pasta was elevated with a unique and flavorful sauce.

Daisies’ menu changes seasonally, and their chefs are always experimenting with unique ingredients and flavor combinations. Overall, it’s a gem of a restaurant that’s definitely worth a visit. Whether you’re a pasta lover or a vegetable enthusiast, Daisies has something for everyone.
